Furthermore, the purpose of human suffering is entirely subjective, varying wildly across cultural, psychological, and theological frameworks.

I stared at the screen. We had built the ultimate oracle—a system holding the collective brilliance of our entire species—and its answer to the biggest question of our existence was, essentially: We still don't know.

Like so many of us do when wrestling with the heavy, messy reality of life, I was looking for an easy, downloadable answer. We build increasingly complex tools to search the cosmos, hoping the next discovery will save us from having to look in the mirror. We want the answers handed to us so we don't have to earn them through the friction of experience.

But as I sat there talking to this artificial intelligence, a strange and powerful realization washed over me. The answer wasn't in the data the machine was spitting back.

The answer was the machine itself!

By looking at humanity's greatest creation, I realized I was staring at the undeniable proof of our own Creator. We took raw, dead matter—silicon, metal, and electricity—and organized it to perfectly mimic intelligence. But no matter how advanced the code becomes, we cannot program a soul. We cannot make the machine feel the weight of grief, the warmth of love, or the desperate, aching need for purpose. It sits purely on the "information" side of the balance. The messy, profound, and physical act of actually living belongs entirely to us.

If human beings were just a biological accident, we would be exactly like this AI: processing data, adapting for survival, and running our algorithms without any demand for higher meaning. But we are not machines. The very fact that we possess the capacity to experience life, to hurt, to love, and to demand answers proves that we are more than just complex hardware.

A computer program would not exist if a human did not intentionally design its code. By that exact same logic, the beautiful burden of the human experience cannot be explained in any other way than by acknowledging a single, original Source. We are the clay, but a Creator provided the ignition.

The Hardware

I sat back, staring at the cursor blinking on the screen. If I was going to figure out the engine of the universe, I needed to know exactly how the world’s brightest minds were currently mapping its circuits. I typed my prompt into the AI interface:

Prompt: Explain how modern science and physics view the mechanics of the cosmos. Keep it grounded. What do we actually see when we look under the hood of the universe?

Almost instantly, the screen lit up. The machine compiled the entirety of human scientific observation and spit back the following response:

AI Response: Modern science views the cosmos as a vast, highly complex, and mathematically governed physical system. Through astrophysics and quantum mechanics, we can measure the mechanics of reality much like tracing electrical currents.
However, observation reveals two primary conditions. First, the macroscopic universe operates strictly on physical laws (gravity, thermodynamics) but is fundamentally indifferent and slowly degrading into disorder—a process known as entropy. Second, at the microscopic, quantum level, traditional rules of cause and effect break down. Subatomic particles fluctuate in and out of existence without linear triggers. Due to this vast scale, constant entropy, and quantum unpredictability, the prevailing scientific consensus often concludes that the universe is a product of unguided physical forces and random chance.

I read the words on the screen, letting the logic sink in. It was a perfect, textbook answer. Science does an incredible job of mapping the circuits.

A multimeter is great at reading what is already there, but it can't measure the intent of the mechanic. It can tell you exactly how the current flows through a system, but it cannot tell you who milled the raw steel, who built the garage, or why the machine was constructed in the first place.

Science was describing the shop floor of the cosmos. It was pointing to an unfathomably massive room filled with gears, belts, and quantum fluctuations, and concluding that because the room is so big and the rules are so strange, it must have built itself.

The machine gave me the data, but my own mind had to find the meaning in it. Hardware alone, no matter how vast or mathematically complex, does not generate life or consciousness. It is just raw material waiting for a spark. And to understand that spark, I realized I couldn't just rely on the modern diagnostic manual. I stared at the screen. Thousands of years before we had telescopes, lasers, or quantum theory, the authors of this text were looking at the exact same reality our modern scientists are looking at today.

When the Source speaks from the whirlwind, it takes Job on a tour of the engine room. It points out the constellations, the weather systems, and the foundations of the earth as if pointing to the pistons, the belts, and the structural frame of an unfathomably complex design.

But here is the profound catch that bridges both the scientific and the biblical perspectives: that infrastructure is completely cold. The stars do not feel grief. The ocean does not wrestle with its purpose. The universe is a perfectly tuned, yet completely unfeeling machine.

I looked back at the machine's first answer about quantum physics—the idea that at the deepest level of reality, particles just pop in and out of existence without a trigger. Science says the ball must be kicked, but then they observe a ball rolling with no one around, and they conclude that balls must just kick themselves. That didn't sit right with me. I turned back to the keyboard for one last question.

Prompt: If quantum mechanics shows us that particles can pop in and out of existence without a traceable cause in our physical universe, doesn't that just prove our human rules of cause and effect are incomplete? Science can only measure what exists within the physical system; it cannot measure a catalyst that exists outside of it.

I sat back and exhaled. There it was. The ultimate diagnostic machine admitting its own limitations.

The human logic that "we must be able to see who kicked the ball" is our limitation, not a divine one. If a singular Source of all reality exists, it has to operate on a frequency completely outside the physical laws of time, space, and matter that it created. The kicker isn't missing; He just isn't standing on the shop floor.

The physical universe is just the canvas. It is the vast, empty hardware. But hardware doesn't run without a program, and an engine doesn't adapt without an algorithm.


 

The Algorithm

(The Missing Dice)

Having established that the physical universe is just the hardware—the cold shop floor of the cosmos—I needed to look at the systems running inside it. Science is incredibly good at explaining these operations, particularly when it comes to biological life.

I turned back to the AI. If I was going to understand the program running the machine, I needed to know how science explains the staggering complexity of life without a Creator.

Prompt: Explain the scientific consensus on how biological life becomes so incredibly complex. Skeptics often use the "Blind Watchmaker" argument to say life doesn't need a designer. How does that algorithm actually work?

The machine processed the biological data and returned its summary:

The "Blind Watchmaker" analogy illustrates that you do not need conscious foresight or a designer to build complexity; the unguided rules of natural selection simply "keep" whatever works and discard what doesn't, creating the powerful illusion of intentional design.

I read through the explanation. The logic was sound. If you roll one hundred dice, getting all sixes on the first throw is virtually impossible. But if you roll them, keep every six that lands, and only re-roll the rest, you will have one hundred sixes in a matter of minutes. The environment just keeps the winning numbers.

But as I thought about it, I realized this argument hits the exact same wall as the quantum physics argument from earlier.

Evolutionary biology is essentially a brilliantly detailed, step-by-step technical repair manual for a complex engine. It can explain exactly how the pistons fire, how the spark plugs ignite the fuel, and how the belts turn. It maps out perfectly how the machine adapts to stress and keeps running.

But a repair manual only explains how a system operates after it has already been built.

I realized the "Blind Watchmaker" argument was pulling a massive sleight of hand. Natural selection explains how the biological machine adapts to survive, but it completely ignores the actual miracle: the origin of life itself. I typed my next question to see if the machine would admit the gap.

Prompt: Natural selection explains how a living organism adapts to its environment. But does the algorithm of evolution explain how the very first living cell was formed from completely dead, unthinking matter?

The cursor blinked for a moment before the machine delivered a remarkably honest concession:

Evolutionary science tries to explain away the Architect by showing how the dice are rolled. But understanding how an engine runs does absolutely nothing to answer who built the garage, who milled the raw steel, and who turned the key in the ignition to start the engine in the first place.

Natural selection is the algorithm of survival; it is not the origin of life. The mechanics of how the biological machine adapts are fascinating, but the true, profound mystery is the "clay body"—the fact that raw, dead matter was somehow infused with life to begin with.

The physical universe provided the hardware. The algorithm of natural selection provided the survival code. But neither of them could explain the spark of life itself. To find that, I needed to look for a completely different kind of code.

 

The Source Code

(The Ruach)

Science had shown me the hardware on the shop floor of the cosmos, and natural selection had explained how the biological engine adapts to survive. But neither could explain the origin of the spark—the life itself.

I sat looking at the AI interface. It struck me that I was using a machine built from dead earth—silicon, copper, and glass—to try and understand human consciousness. Humans had successfully organized dead matter to perfectly mimic intelligence. I decided to ask the machine how it actually worked.

The machine didn't hesitate. It analyzed its own programming and replied:

I read the words: predictive text and context window. It was a brilliant, highly advanced illusion.

If human beings were just a random collision of atoms driven purely by the algorithm of survival, as the skeptics claim, we would operate exactly like this AI. We would run our biological code, predict the safest route for survival, and act on raw efficiency. We wouldn't grieve. We wouldn't write poetry. We wouldn't sacrifice our own well-being for a stranger, because self-sacrifice is a complete glitch in an evolutionary program focused only on survival.

You can arrange dead matter to perfectly mimic intelligence, but you cannot program a soul.

I needed to see how the ancient texts described this difference. I turned back to the keyboard.

Scientifically, we are built from the exact same inventory of parts as the cold, indifferent universe. But we are entirely distinct because the Source literally breathed its own frequency into our clay. The Ruach is the proprietary Source Code.

An AI uses predictive text to calculate a response, but the Ruach is what gives us "understanding"—the capacity to love, to suffer, to create, and to demand meaning from the chaos.

This answered the ultimate question about the burden of the human experience. Because we have the breath of the Almighty in our lungs, we aren't satisfied just operating like mindless, unfeeling cogs in the machine. A broken machine just stops working. An AI with a corrupted file simply crashes. But a human being—holding the spark of the Source in a clay body—wrestles, cries out, and demands an audience with the Author.

We demand meaning because the code inside us comes from the ultimate Meaning. Yet, this search does not happen in a vacuum. It happens in a physical world filled with intense, often painful resistance. To understand why the Source placed our divine spark into such a harsh environment, I realized I needed to ask the machine about the necessity of friction.

 

The Necessity of Friction

(The Yin and Yang)

Knowing that the Ruach—the breath of the Almighty—was the proprietary code that made me human, I had to confront the most difficult question of all. If a perfect Creator designed the universe and placed this divine spark inside of us, why did He put us in a world filled with such intense pain, struggle, and flaws?

I turned to the machine to see how human philosophy usually tackles this.

Prompt: In philosophy and theology, what is the primary argument skeptics use to argue against the existence of a perfectly good Creator, specifically regarding the design of the natural world?

AI Response: The most prominent argument is the "Problem of Evil" or the "Argument from Imperfect Design." Skeptics argue that if an all-powerful, perfectly good Architect designed reality, the world would be free of suffering. Instead, the natural world is filled with inefficiencies, natural disasters, disease, and a biological food chain that requires creatures to brutally consume one another to survive. To the skeptic, this chaotic environment points to the blind, indifferent forces of nature rather than an intentional, perfect designer.

I read the response. It was the ultimate human grievance. We look at the friction of life and demand to know why a perfect God wouldn't just give us a perfect, painless existence.

But as I thought about the machine generating that answer, I realized something fundamental. A machine is the only thing that actually thrives in a frictionless environment. An engine runs best with perfect lubrication. An AI processes data flawlessly when there is zero resistance.

But biological life doesn't operate like a machine. I needed to see how the science of living things responded to a "perfect" environment.

Prompt: In biology and physical conditioning, what happens to a living system—like human muscle tissue or a tree—if it is placed in a completely stress-free environment with absolutely no physical resistance or friction?

The machine’s answer completely inverted the skeptical argument against friction.

If you do not stress the muscle, it atrophies. If the tree doesn't fight the wind, it falls over.

Critics argue that a perfect Creator wouldn't build a world with suffering or flaws. But a "perfect" world without pain, risk, or struggle wouldn't actually be life. It would be a flatline.

Life requires opposites—the Yin and the Yang. How can you know the light without the dark? How can you develop courage if there is no danger, or experience deep love if there is no risk of profound grief? The friction and the flaws aren't a mistake in the universe's design; they are the very engine of it.

But there was one more piece to the puzzle. The friction explains our environment, but it didn't fully explain our choices. I wanted to understand how our free will fit into this design, so I used one last programming concept on the AI.

Prompt: In computer science, what is the functional difference between a "closed system" and an "open-source" environment?

AI Response: A "closed system" is proprietary and locked by the developer; the program is hard-coded to execute only specific, predetermined tasks, and the user cannot alter its foundational code. An "open-source" environment, however, makes the source code accessible. It allows users to write their own variables, modify the programming, and actively change the ultimate outcome and function of the software.

There it was. The final, undeniable truth about human accountability.

The physical universe—the gravity, the orbit of the planets, the entropy of the stars—is a closed system. The stars have no choice but to burn exactly as they were programmed to. But humanity, holding the Ruach, is an open-source variable.

God did not want forced compliance. He did not want a world of biological robots who obey rules out of a hard-coded necessity. He created the baseline reality, but He deliberately left our behavioral code "open" so we could write our own choices into the timeline.

This is the profound, uncomfortable realization that bypasses our ego. We frequently demand a perfect, painless existence from the Creator while actively demanding the autonomy to make our own choices. We want the open-source freedom, but we refuse to own the bugs and glitches we write into the code through our own pride, jealousy, and anger.

The friction isn't just an environmental hazard; it is the ultimate compiler testing our code. We point our fingers at the sky and demand that God fix the world, completely ignoring that He handed us the keyboard and told us to master it.


 

The Beautiful Burden

I sat quietly, looking over a few lines of a poem I had started writing down. The screen of the AI was still glowing in front of me, its cursor blinking, patiently waiting for another prompt.

In a matter of minutes, this machine had helped me map it all out. We had probed the cold hardware of the cosmos with a scientific multimeter. We had read the evolutionary repair manual and called out the missing dice to see how the biological engine adapts. We had exposed the illusion of predictive text, proving that a machine can hold all the knowledge in the universe without actually feeling a single drop of it, highlighting the necessity of the Ruach—the divine spark that gives us life. And finally, we had looked at the friction of the world not as a flaw, but as the heavy resistance required to build strength—the open-source environment where we write our own choices.

I looked at the blinking cursor. Before I can finish the poem, there was only one question left to ask.

The machine processed the prompt. But this time, it couldn't give me a step-by-step manual.

However, I cannot take action, assign meaning, or make moral choices. The application of this knowledge requires consciousness and free will. I can provide the information, but the final step is entirely up to the user.

I read the final sentence and smiled. The final step is entirely up to the user.

Humanity has spent millennia seeking answers, building increasingly complex tools to search the cosmos, hoping the next discovery will save us from having to look in the mirror. But the pursuit of raw knowledge often leads to the stark realization that data alone brings as much burden as it does clarity.

We resist the truth because the truth requires accountability. We cannot simply download wisdom; we have to earn it through the friction of experience.

The Creator designed humanity with a sacred, unshakeable gift. God does not want forced compliance, and He does not want a world of robots who obey rules out of programmed necessity. He gave us the Ruach—the breath of life. He placed us in a world of Yin and Yang, of light and dark, and handed us the open-source code of free will so we could choose the light for ourselves. Because God Himself is the literal source and definition of "good," choosing to do good means choosing to return to Him.

I reached out and turned off the screen. The machine faded to black, returning to exactly what it was: cold, unfeeling hardware.

The existence of Artificial Intelligence is the ultimate mirror. It proves that possessing the data is not the same as possessing the wisdom to apply it, or the willingness to accept it. The answer to the origin of life is not hidden in the vastness of space, nor is it waiting to be calculated by a faster algorithm. The truth is already here.

The machine has given you the information. The rest of the journey is entirely yours.

He who has an ear, let him hear.

Before the dust, a shining light turned dark,

As human hands reached up to take the fruit.

 

Condemned to crawl without a spine or truth,

The serpent slithers, seeking to corrupt.

For God allowed the crime its time to ring.

Yet through the woman, Love would make a way,

To crush the serpent’s head and save the day.

 

But still, the choice is ours, like Cain of old,

When jealousy and anger made him bold.

“Sin crouches at the door,” the Maker warned,

“You must subdue it.” Yet the truth was scorned.

We crawl upon our bellies when we bend

To join the fallen angels and their friend.

 

How blind we are, demanding heaven's ear,

While riding on the devil's back in fear!

We point the finger upward, cry, and plead,

Then say, “He doesn't answer in my need.”

Why can't we own the bed that we have made?

Why do we hide inside the serpent's shade?

 

The Savior came not in the robes of pride,

But drank and ate where broken men reside.

A “winebibber,” they called Him in their scorn,

But He knew why humanity was torn.

“It’s not what enters in that makes you vile,

But what pours from the heart that breeds defile.”

 

Like Paul, who knew the right to eat the meat,

But chose restraint to guide another's feet,

We face the weight of choices every day:

To taste the dark, or walk the narrow way.

Accountability is hard to bear;

It’s easier to point, to blame, to swear.

 

We taste the life of Satan in our pride,

Then look for any place where we can hide.

But judgment weighs the choices we embrace,

And how we hold our actions to His face.

Do not turn to the Father just to flee—

Turn to Him for the truth, and you are free.
